In addition to isocentre positions, some cancer centres mark complete field edges in one location upon the patient's skin. This is an additional QA procedure used to check the patient setup. When marking field edges it is necessary to move all laser lines. By using this technique it is possible to project an unlimited number of intersection points of the laser lines to form edge fields. Even the most irregular shapes can be plotted.
The coordinates of the intersection points must be determined with the CT-Software (CT-Simulation Option) or with Therapy Planning Software.
The DORADO 4 Plus System is the perfect tool for marking entry and exit points for Brachytherapy Applications. The intersection points are determined by the Brachy-Planning or the Brachy-Virtual Simulation Software and transferred via computer to the DORADO 4 Plus computer to be projected on a patient's skin.
Dosimeters for the daily QA can also be placed more precisely and reproducibly by using the DORADO 4 Plus System. The co-ordinates for the marks are determined from the Planning System and marked with the DORADO 4 Plus Marking System.
