Marking the Isocentre

The treatment couch for CT's can be moved in two axes only, up and down or inwards and outwards. Therefore, to mark the isocentre of a tumor precisely on the skin after CT diagnosis, it is essential to be able to move the sagittal line from side to side.

The coordinates of the isocentre are determined from CT images. Using the laser reference lines, it is then possible to mark the isocentre onto the skin by positioning the couch and moving the sagittal line.
