CT-Simulation (Tumour Localisation) – NL-Tec supplies and installs LAP DORADO Systems to project moveable laser lines that intersect and form crosses of laser light upon the patients’ skin. Images from a CT-Scanner are used to calculate how far each laser line should shift to change all intersection points from a preset position (Laser zero) to Isocentre position (treatment centre). Implanted Fiducial Gold Markers are now regarded as part of the standard procedure for prostate external beam radiotherapy to ensure precision targeted radiation. Image-based verification is used to reduce treatment margins and the dose to surrounding normal tissues. Gold markers are clearly visible on CT and MR scans.
